CACTUS VALLEY ART GALLERY EXHIBITION OPEN CALL
Seeking applications from women, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, and other under represented groups to exhibit groundbreaking work.
CRITERIA
CVA is seeking work from artists who show innovation in form, content, and idea. Selections are based on an evaluation of works submitted, and strength of proposal. We look for consistency in style, execution, and aesthetic vision. Works shown anywhere in the RGV in the last year are okay but we encourage applicants to create a new body of work. Proposals must demonstrate the ability to execute and command a gallery space of roughly 500 square feet.
ELIGIBILITY
Anyone living in Texas who has not had a solo show at CVA is eligible to apply. Emerging, mid-career, and established artists are all invited to apply. Our priority is showcasing a diverse group of artists throughout the year, both in form and in content of the art. All mediums are welcome.
REQUIREMENTS
Fill out the form on the right to the best of your abilities. Include an artist statement, a written proposal for your show, feel free to include sketches and concept drawings here, and at least five photos of past work that support your vision. If selected, 75% of work shown must be for sale. CVA operates on a 30/70 split of all gallery sales.
While not required we are asking for a $5-10 suggested donation. All money collected will go directly towards gallery support by way of personnel, maintenance, and promotion of future shows.
